
Product Performance
This is a replicated field trial evaluating product performance across corn and soybean production. Each treatment is planted in 30-foot by 120-foot strips with six replications per treatment, providing statistically valid yield comparisons. At harvest, yield data from each strip is used to quantify the agronomic and economic return of each product or product combination.
KEY CONCEPTS TO KNOW
In-furrow products
Applied directly into the seed trench at planting. Nutrients and biologicals placed in the furrow are immediately available to germinating roots.
Foliar products
Sprayed onto the plant canopy during the growing season. Foliar-applied nutrients bypass soil chemistry to deliver inputs directly to active tissue.
Biostimulants
Products that enhance plant physiological processes rather than directly supplying nutrients, improving yield potential without adding fertilizer.
Microbial inoculants
Bacteria applied to seeds or soil that colonize the root zone, producing growth hormones and solubilizing bound nutrients.
Stacked programs
Combining both in-furrow and foliar applications. Tests whether targeting both windows produces additive or synergistic yield responses.
Check plots
Untreated control strips receiving no products. Every treatment is compared to its check to quantify the yield response attributable to each input.
